Indonesia Relaunches Multiple Entry Visa Service
Indonesia’s Directorate General of Immigration officially relaunched the multiple entry visa service on November 28, 2022. The service was suspended because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The visa holder is able to stay in Indonesia for a maximum of 60 days for each arrival within one year, without the need to apply for a new visa. However, holders of this visa can only enter Indonesia through the Riau Islands Province, from there they can visit other areas of Indonesia.
Further, holders of the multiple entry visa can undertake the following activities in Indonesia:
- Official government visits;
- Pre-investment planning/research;
- Visiting relatives; and
- Business travelers.
What are the requirements to obtain an Indonesian multiple-entry visa?
The application requirements for the business visa are as follows:
- A passport valid for at least 18 months;
- A letter of invitation from the Indonesian-based sponsor mentioning the purpose of the applicant’s visit, and length of stay. The Indonesian sponsor will also need to make an online application to the immigration office in Jakarta on behalf of the applicant;
- A business cover letter from the applicant’s own company;
- One passport-sized photograph (white background);
- A copy of the applicant’s round-trip, electronic airline ticket;
- Pay the 3 million rupiah (US$193) fee;
- A bank statement proving the applicant has at least US$2,000 to support their cost of living while in Indonesia;
- Proof of the applicant having been fully vaccinated against COVID-19; and
- Proof of ownership of health insurance.
The process usually takes five working days by which the immigration office will issue a visa approval letter. This will then be sent to the applicants’ nearest Indonesian Embassy, which will issue the visa.
